GRAN EYE transmits camera footage to the app via Wi-Fi and calculates scores using image analysis.
For this reason, if your home Wi-Fi environment is not suitable, issues such as “Camera not found” or “Score not updating” may occur. Please make sure your network meets the following requirements before purchasing.
Supported Wi-Fi
- 2.4GHz Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11b/g/n)
The app and camera must be able to communicate on the same network. If your router has “Client Isolation” or “AP Isolation” enabled, the connection will fail.
For Wi-Fi 6 router users: In some cases, the connection may succeed but the video will not display.
For details, please see “Important Notes for Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) Routers”.
Unsupported Wi-Fi
- 5GHz Wi-Fi (Only 2.4GHz is supported)
- Guest networks (Guest SSIDs restrict device-to-device communication)
- WPA3-only networks (WPA2/WPA3 mixed mode is supported)
- IPv6-only environments (IPv4 must be available)
Connections will not work with 5GHz-only or Guest SSIDs. Always use a standard 2.4GHz SSID.
Recommended Router Settings
- Home routers that allow separate SSIDs for 2.4GHz and 5GHz
Example: SSIDs displayed as “Home_WiFi_2G” and “Home_WiFi_5G” - Routers supporting WPA2 or WPA2/WPA3 mixed mode
Example: Encryption settings allow “WPA2-PSK” or “WPA2/WPA3-Personal” - Broadband routers that support IPv4 communication
Example: Standard home routers commonly used with fiber-optic internet services - Mesh Wi-Fi / extenders where the 2.4GHz SSID can be selected explicitly
Example: Mesh systems that provide a dedicated “2.4GHz SSID”
※ The names of settings may vary depending on your router model (e.g., “Smart Connect,” “Band Steering”). Please check whether you can fix the connection to 2.4GHz.
